Session Updater replaces the audio in a .rxdoc
file, preserves its markers and view state, and can rebuild the edits you
already made onto the new audio. macOS.
Runs without a licence key in demo mode, with no time limit. A key is needed only to write the updated document.
RX has no feature for replacing the source audio in a saved session. When a revised mix arrives, the edits in the session belong to the previous file.
This tool reads the session, substitutes the new audio, and writes a new document with the markers and view state intact. The source document is never modified: every operation produces a new file.
Each edit exists in the file twice: the input RX started from, and the output it produced. From those two, the tool recovers the operation as a transfer function in the frequency domain, then applies it to the corresponding range of the new audio.
This covers fades, gain moves, EQ, and quasi-linear dynamic operations such as de-essing. It transfers where the new audio is a different mix of the same material.
Spectral repair and pitch shift depend on the input in ways a transfer function does not capture. RX does not store enough about an ad-hoc edit to reconstruct one by any means, so this is a limit of the format rather than of the tool.
Where an edit cannot be recovered, it is reported and dropped rather than approximated.
Holding any waveform plays it from the point held. The output lane is rendered by the same code that writes the file.
Where the new audio is a different length, the alignment panel detects the offset and allows it to be adjusted, with a null test for checking the result by ear.
Demo mode opens sessions, shows the full edit history, reconstructs the result and plays it back. It does not write the updated document.
There is no expiry and no countdown. Evaluate it on real sessions for as long as you need — that is the only way to know whether edit recovery transfers usefully on your material. Entering a key at any point unlocks writing.

You need iZotope RX to have produced the .rxdoc sessions.
It is not included, and this tool is not affiliated with iZotope. New
audio is supplied as a WAV — 16, 24 or 32-bit PCM, or 32-bit
float. To rebuild edits, its sample rate and channel count must match
the source; the length may differ.
The disk image also contains the user guide and the third-party licence notices. A command-line tool ships alongside the app for batch and scripted work, documented in the guide.
Upgrading from an earlier version. Keys issued now require version 1.2.1 or later. An earlier build refuses a new key, which presents as an invalid key rather than as a version problem.
Payment is handled by Stripe. You will be asked for the name to issue the licence to.
Reconstructed edits are approximate. Audition the output before delivering it. The source document is never modified, so the original always survives.
Cancellation. As a consumer you have 14 days from purchase to cancel for a refund. Because the licence key is supplied immediately, you are asked to acknowledge at checkout that supply begins straight away and that the 14-day right ends once it has. That is the statutory position for digital content.
To keep the cancellation right, use demo mode instead and buy later.

The name is built into the key, so activation uses the name exactly as given. Capitals and surrounding spaces are ignored; anything else is not. It is shown back to you before payment and again in the email.
